Strengthening Academic Skills (SAS) Program
Goals of the SAS Program:
  • To strengthen academic skills needed for college success
  • To identify strengths and weaknesses that impact college experiences
  • To develop strategies that address areas that may need improvement
  • To create a plan to apply those strategies in future college courses
  • To enhance reading and writing skills
 
Format of SAS Program:

July 13-16 - 9:00 a.m. to Noon
(Sessions meet Monday through Thursday -- Smucker Learning Center B-117)

Session topics will include:

  • Taking Reasonable Risks
  • Taking Responsibility for your Learning
  • Searching the Environment for Information
  • Using Feedback

July 20-23 - Meet individually (by appointment) with an academic coach to identify your academic strengths and weaknesses and to discuss the information presented during the previous week.

August 10-13 - Again meet individually (by appointment) with an academic coach to develop specific learning strategies and to create a plan to use these strategies in future college courses.
