RESERVE MATERIALS POLICIES
Faculty members should submit a course syllabus for each course supported by library reserve materials.
If faculty members choose the electronic format, they will need to assign each course a password and be responsible for disseminating that password to their students in that course.
TYPES OF MATERIALS THAT MAY BE PLACED ON RESERVE
- Books or videos from any University of Akron Library circulating collection
- Personal copies of books (For the sake of organization and security, a barcode and reserve sticker will be affixed to personal copies.)
- Wayne Reference materials
- Government documents
- Links to Web sites
- Electronic copies of class notes, lectures, presentations, tests, exams, homework assignment, articles and answer keys for any of the above
- Complete periodical issues from the Wayne College collection
NUMBER OF ITEMS TO BE PLACED ON RESERVE
- 25 hard copies per course
- 50 electronic titles per course
COPYRIGHT CONSTRAINTS
- Electronic images of book chapters will be placed on reserve, in compliance with copyright guidelines
- Photocopies or electronic images will be placed on reserve for one semester
- The library will attain copyright permission for any additional semester with the authority to deny additional permission based on cost. The faculty member can choose to pay for high cost reserves out of their departmental materials fund.
CIRCULATION POLICIES
- The circulation period is determined by the instructor
- Fines are $.50 per day or hour
- After 3 days or 72 hours a bill invoice will be generated
- The maximum fine is $20.00
- Students will not be permitted to renew items on reserve
REMOVAL FROM RESERVE
- At the end of each semester, the Library will send out reminder letters. All materials will be removed unless indicated to remain for an additional semester.
