What is information literacy?
Information literacy is the ability to find, evaluate, and effectively use information in all its various formats. Wayne College Library and The University of Akron Libraries have adopted a set of core information literacy competencies.
Information Literacy Workshops
The library staff have created a number of information literacy workshops for students that highlight research the skills needed to be successful during the first two years of college. These workshops may be required by individual course instructors, but are highly recommended for all students. Students should check their syllabi at the start of the semester to determine which workshops are required in each course.
Online Tutorials
Several of the workshops are available as online video tutorials in the library’s Springboard classroom. You must be a currently enrolled student at Wayne College to access the library’s online classroom. Connect to Springboard.
