Named
Scholarship Opportunities at Wayne
College
and the Holmes County Higher Education Center
Individuals,
businesses and organizations may participate in partnering with Wayne
College to increase our scholarships for students.
This is done through named scholarships. A named scholarship is a way
of leaving a legacy and supporting the students both now and in the future.
-
Some named scholarship funds can supply a $500 scholarship every
year. This endowed scholarship may be started with a minimum gift of
$10,000. So a one-time gift creates the opportunity to perpetually
give to Wayne College students that otherwise might not be able to
attend.
-
Some named scholarships are annually funded by the donors. Example:
A business may set aside $1,000-$2,000 annually and create the
ABC Company Scholarship where all the donated funds will be awarded
to
qualifying students that academic year.
-
The donor may also want
annual representation in the selection of scholarship recipients.
In this case, the Wayne College Financial
Aid Coordinator selects finalists for the donor to review.
-
Wayne
College offers scholarships to students under academic and need-based
guidelines.
-
Scholarships are designated for credit classes.
-
In Holmes County,
businesses and individuals may want to formulate new scholarships
based on recipients residing in
the county and attending the Wayne College / Holmes County Higher
Education Center located
on the second floor at 88 E. Jackson Street in Millersburg.
