Trinity Child Care Program

The Trinity Child Care was established in 1994 with the goal of providing an affordable, nonsectarian, high quality child care program. It has expanded to five days a week to better serve the needs of the children of The University of Akron Wayne College students as well as the general public. The program offers subsidized rates for those who are enrolled at Wayne College. The Trinity Child Care Program accepts children who are receiving assistance from the Ohio Department of Human Services.

Children registered for child care may also be enrolled in a preschool class in Trinity's Nursery School Program.

Hours of the Program

Child care is offered year round Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with full-day operations, hourly and occasional care.

About Our Center

Trinity United Methodist Nursery School was founded in 1978 to provide a comprehensive educational experience for young children.

We believe that a child's self-image is a vital ingredient in the learning process. Through nurturing and encouraging a child's participation in a wide variety of well planned activities, they can gain feelings of competence that will lead to further success and motivation for future learning.

Our program strives to meet the needs and interests of each child through cooperative learning experiences. It provides an environment where children can learn through play, exploration, asking questions, making choices and developing feelings of success through activities. Children are encouraged to play with others and to acquire good social habits and manners.

Daily Schedules include . . .

Opportunities for quiet and active play

Some of the Activities are:

  • Art
