Waynessence,
the College's literary magazine, is staffed by student writers and
editors and is published semiannually.
Students, faculty, or staff may submit
short stories, poetry, photos,
or artwork.

Students
are encouraged to join the Waynessence staff by attending meetings.
Anyone
is welcome to attend any meeting at any time.
This year the editor will hold four meetings.
Contact waynessence@uakron.edu to indicate your interest in joining the staff.
All meeting times are 3:30 p.m. in C-110
* Meeting # 1: Tuesday, September 18, 2007 -- Organizational meeting
* Meeting # 2: Tuesday, October 16, 2007 -- Editing/proofreading
* Meeting # 3: Tuesday, October 30, 2007 -- Photo and artwork layout
* Meeting # 4: Tuesday, December 4, 2007 -- Waynessence release and "signing" celebration

*Note: Human subjects
must sign a publication release form in order for Waynessence to
publish their likenesses. Parents may sign for minors, but we still
need a signed form.
Submission deadlines:
* Written work: Friday, October 12 . 5:00 p.m.
All poems submitted to the Fall 2007 edition of Waynessence will be automatically entered in the Waynessence "Editors' Choice Poetry Contest."
(Please limit your poetry entries to two poems.)
First Place: $ 50.00 Honorable Mention: $ 25.00
Judges’ decision is final.
Work
can be turned in at the Smucker Learning Center OR the Waynessence
mailbox in the College Mail Room. Photographers
and artists who do not want to submit originals may have their
work scanned for free in the Word Processing
department (A-134).
